Unhappy scratches

ok yesterday i was putting on my new shift knob, and of course i put it in neutral so i could get the pin out, during all this, dumby me didnt pull up far enough into the garage and when the door closed it made scratches on my back bumper . does anyone know what i could do for this (minus taking it to a body shop). which is probably what i will have to do. but any ideas you have it would be appreciated

How bad is it.

Somebody backed into my car in a parking lot and messed up the paint, but it was mostly transfer.

Meguairs Scrath X worked pretty good for me, the paint is still cracked thou

Na you don't need a buffer.

If you go to a place like AutoZone or Pep Boys (Don't know what's around you) you can just get those white terry towels, or the yellow mircofiber ones. I suggest the white terry towels though.

Wash the area lightly first, dry it off with one of the towel. Then apply the Scrath X on the towel and rub it on the spot, start light and go a bit harder if needed. Fold the towel in 1/4's because you have to wipe the haze off every so often.

Don't rub too hard, might take off some paint if it's cracked.

Body shop quoted me $400 to repaint the bumper, this only cost me $10

I just threw $400 out there. I was quoted $350 to paint only 1/2 the bumper and blend it in

please please be quiet your clueless
why does everyone think that its so EASY to fix cars let me tell ya its not, here is what i would do for a small scratch like yours
i would remove the bumper, take my D.A. with some 180 then 240 our bumpers are either tpo or tpe or teo and that plastic likes to swell so 240 will make it much smoother when it comes to applying primer
apply primer, sand it with 240 then 320 then 400 then 1000 prep the bumper either with 800 or use 3m`s prep n` blend liquid blow it off wipe it down apply sealer base then clear
and that is a short version, probably like 3 days worth of work
so until you sir have a clue then respond
again 400 bucks is dirt cheap
