music coming from the inside of amplifier

Hi all, new member, just got my 03 alero on friday, but I hooked up my 4 ch amp, and with the speakers disconected, I could hear music(very scratchy) coming from the inside of my amp. I have never heard of this before, did I hook something up wrong? or has anyone ever heard of this before? I have installed this system in 5 seperate vehicles of mine, and this is a first. thanx, and great site!

check how you wired you headunit, sometime you need to take it slow to make sure nothing touches or any of that crap. Also check all your settings, i have played with mine before and have had that happen, i just disconnect wires (GND, 12V)

For tight fits, it depends on HU that your are using, some have that metal braket that most forget to take off, i dont use mine, since i build my own, but

Whats going on 03' I know tons of info about systems, installs, speakers, deck settings. Now you said you heard music coming from the amp? Well if thats is the case... disconnect every thing or trace where each wire to its connection. Examine the wire for damage, touching other wires, or shorts.

thanks guys

Thanks, I fiddled with the wires, and it isn't doing it anymore. and I have the panasonic CQ 8300 (I think thats right) I re-routed all the wires behind the HU, and found that its just where the wires come out of the HU, are right against the metal brace holding the dash, but its jammed in there tight now.
Thanks again
