Trac Off and Temp Gauge issues - Help!!!

Hi all,

This is really driving me crazy (more crazy)

We are driving around and the temp gauge go to full heat then right after the trac off light come on. The car start like holding back and is like you are putting the parking brake on when you are traying to drive.

Any help???

Any ideas???

have you looked at your coolant?

Yeah coolant is ok and the car is not hot, it can happen is less than a minute after the car is been turn on.

my car is doing the same minus the traction. Car runs fine but every once in a while, the needle spikes up right underneath the 3rd temp tick mark and starts to chug like it's about to die when you hit the gas, even at idle. Never does though

my coolant light comes on ever day too dunno why cause I checked it and its fine but it is an alero so its gonna have its problems...

i would start by replacing the thermostat

Just ordered one from PFYC. Also I noticed that when i turn my car off, every 15-20 secs I hear a little ping noise and i know that's not good. Something with detonation???

thats probably your exhaust cooling off. your engine cant detonate if its not running lol
