exhaust and intake
Has anyone tested a 2.4L Induction-Dynamics CAI and a HKS Universal Hi-Power Muffler?
Was thinking about these 2 upgrades, some advice (performance-related)

ID makes a good CAI, but i dunno, just the muffler or the whole exhaust from the header back?

I guess all I'm looking at right now is just the muffler

The muffler alone won't do anything for you. Stick with the CAI you won't be disappointed. But don't expect hp out the a**, maybe 5hp if you lucky with the ID CAI.

putting on just a new muffler will show minimal performance increase. i'd recommend doing at least a cat-back with bigger piping. also, an aem style wai can be had on ebay for around 25 bucks. this can be converted to cold air for pretty cheap by purchasing an accord cai and using the downpipe from that.

hmm sounds like a good idea. ID's prices are insane. We'll see. I'm not good with self fabrication on pipes though. Yeah, i supposed i should go with a whole exhaust system. What type of headers are suggested?

I would say put a flowmaster 80 on it becuase those straight thru mufflers sound like crap and/or a lawnmower on a 4 cyl, but after reading your other thread, it seems like you want that.
So I say save your cash by going to a muffler shop getting a new pipe from the cat back installed and a eBay rice muffler for $20, probably cost you about $100 to do it

cutting intake tubing doesn't have to be pretty. you can use a hacksaw on it, the edges will be covered by a coupler.
and play nice redog. you'll scare the new comers away, and the only upgrades this site will see are cleared corners, razzi kits, and window tint.
i'm just playing.

the ID CAI which i have had for years works great. you get a nice gain. if you got the money go for it. far as muffler a cat back is better but a muffler is a start.

So a CAI, Catback, and Muffler would be good for starters with performance mod? Or would I want to start some where else...

hmm, future plans is to turbo my car. Don't know where to start with performance mods, intake/exhaust does sound good though right now.
What is a good place to research how a turbo works, and what type of proper set up works well with a 2.4L? Thank you!
