Just take the black rubber piece off. They come right off...just pull and peel back, or cut a little slit in the end and tear. If you are look for blue knobs...this isnt the way to go...they are green at night but blue during the day

and this is only on the 99, maybe the 00 year Aleros. The 01+ models have solid white knobs under the black covering.

You could probably take the rubber part off then cut the front out and slide it back on the knob.

Or take the rubber off and paint black around the sides where you don't want the light to show thru. Probably easier to take the paint off if you make a mistake than to uncut the rubber.

AlbinoMonkeyRat is on a distinguished road
you can, but it would tak a lot of work to get into that part. Anything is possible with enough determination, knowledge or money. For switching out the lights to LEDs, money shouldn't be a big issue.

yes the 2000's come off. I took mine off about two months ago and they came off real easy. I got small flat-head screwdriver and pryed the rubber piece off. You could also just break the tabs off if you want but I didn't do that in case I wanted to put 'em back on.
