Was Thinking!!
Phoned Minute Muffler near my place, and was thinkin of putting new custom 2.25" catback exhaust piping with a Flowmaster 40 single outlet only gonna cost me $350 parts and labour not including taxes, on my alero, does that sound like a good idea??? now im in a little controversy, he says that it would be a good Idea to put a freeflowing catalytic converter on as well, will cost around $170.........also I can't seem to find any headers for the alero 2.4L.....I heard pacesetter makes them but still can't find it???????????

once posted.....
Someone recently posted a big study on freeflow cats..
The study found, that bang for buck.. the difference is hardly worth it..
from the stock GM cat.
I think is finished with some quote like if your drag racing and trying to shave thousandths of seconds off your time, then it would be the only real reason to get a better one..
dont bother.. its an upsell..
You'd be better just buying e85 gas, and getting your all your rubber pipes changed if your looking for a difference..

The free flow cat also won't do you any good until you put headers on

IDK if a 4 banger can push a 40 but they do make a 60 series for sport compact.
Do some more reseach on the muffler first, but I love the idea. Take your time and do it right

You want the pacesetter headers, go to www.car-stuff.com , they have them there.

would this actually be better than getting new piping and muffler, as said up at top of thread, $350 not including taxes,(CDN) would I actually save money?

Well, do you want a dual outlet exhaust? The picture there is generic.
