Trans-cooler & fluid

When I get home I am going to install a B&M supercooler. When this happens I will obviously lose some fluid. I have less than 30,000 miles on the ho. Do I need to change the trans-fluid after a certian amount of time or just miliage? If so should I just replace with stock fluid or something like B&M trick shift or what? Any help welcome.

You can, but it's not needed. The stock Dexron III will be just fine.

I did mine at 70,000 miles. I believe that is somewhat standard.

adding 1 qt of b&m trickshift is not going to do anything, in quantity it helps to lower foaming problems and is a stickier fluid.

i changed my fliud and filter at 80,000 miles and lost performance, after a certain amout of time the particles from the tranny internals in the fluid help the clutches grab quicker, when the fluid is changed you lose a majority of those particles. after i changed my fluid i ended up increasing line pressure by 15% to get my shifting where i want it, nice and firm.

I was going to switch all the fluid so, do you think switching my fluid over to trickshift or something of that nature would help considering my milage?

With that low amount of mileage you have, switching to fully synthetic would probably be your best bet. There's the Trickshift like you mentioned, Mobil 1, Royal Purple, and some others. Just make sure it's a full flush of all the fluid, including what's in the converter.

synthetic would be the best bet, and then you can tweak the line pressures a bit to get a stronger shift.

You might not want to add the B&M TrickShift fluid to your transmission unless you're using the synthetic version. If i remember right, the original TrickShift fluid is meant to be a replacement for type F. Using that fluid would result in a much harsher shift and possibly some shuddering from the trans because that fluid doesn't contain the friction modifiers that the transmission was designed to have with a Dexron III fluid.'

The synthetic TrickShift and the Mobil 1 ATF both meet the specs for Dexron III.
