Baer brake upgrade.....should i get it?
I know DOHC has a thread similar to this, but i dont wanna jack his thread.
so lately ive been thinking about upgrading the brakes, i feel like i have to push harder on the brakes to stop when i have my rims on. I know they are bigger and weigh more, so would it be a good idea if i bought the Baer brake upgrade off of PFYC????? will they help me out a lot??
Do you guys think i need one? cause i dont want my brake pads wearing out a lot faster.....idk. is it worth the money?

only problem with that is that you wont be able to put your stock wheels on with the big brake kit, so its up to you if you want to leave your rims on through our harsh NY winters

shit there goes my plan of ever getting this done......cause our winters here suck so putting aftermarket rims during that season is no better then taking them and throwing'em over a cliff
thanx for bringing that up, didnt think about that

you could get cheap beater rims that are 17s or bigger for the winter if you wanted to do that, just so your main rims wouldnt get effected by the snow/salt

hmmmm, that sucks, i didnt know i couldnt put the stock rims back on after i got that upgrade. thanks! i guess i will just get some new rotors, maybe some new brake pads. but i changed the pads about 20,000 miles ago...... i was just wondering if i should get the upgrade cause the rims are bigger and heavier and it takes more to stop them. new rotors will work good, right?

Id say go for it, personally I love mine! The changing a tire sucks because you gotta either have a 17" spare or take the rear wheel to the front and put spare on rear but in the end they are worth it. Stop alot faster than stockers ever did.

yea it would be nice if i could get 17s to use for the winter, lmao, but i dont have an extra 300-500 bucks
wont new rotors help me with braking? def. not as good as the baer upgrade, but slotted rotors are better than stock....

When the pads squeeze against the rotor, the dust that's created sits between the pad and rotor, and with slotted and/or drilled rotors, the slots and holes get rid of the dust and also helps cool the rotor. So yes, just adding slotted rotors will help you and are better than stock. I have drilled and slotted rotors and I've been very happy with mine.
^^I just read what I wrote. I sound like an ad for Power Slot
