lets try to get a meet setup for 8-8-08 :p
i had the thought that we should try to schedule a meet of some sort next year 8 8 08 maybe we can try to get it set up somewhere or somebody knows somebody who has a good place to meet up at. hopefully this time a year will be enough to get people to go since i was following the rp topic for today and almost everybody couldnt go for whatever reason.

"East Coast" is kindof a general location there. You gotta narrow it down. People arent gonna be in for the long haul on a mini-meet.

well trying to make it bigger than a mini meet. thats why i said hopefully somebody knows somebody with a place to run this meet or something or maybe just rent a track or something like that. good location would be like delaware or maryland so we can get most of the east coast if possible.

^"rent a track"? What do you RP is? Nobody went to the track yesterday when there was a formal Olds event already set up for you. Why do you think anybody's going to bother to go to an informal gathering or "rent a track"? No offense, dude, but this just hits a sore spot for me.

well i could see why most people couldnt go..... i would have hitched a ride up there but neways i think with some people going back to college or also since it was labor day weekend and most people go to the shore or something like that made it a rough day for the event.

RP is close enough to the Jersey shore and most people knew that. That was all part of discussions last year and early this year. You could have gone to the track during the day and then head to the shore for the rest of the extended weekend.
Go ahead and "plan" an event for NEXT summer. Let me know how it turns out for you.

^I did have an event scheduled. And it would have been run for us. Check out my thread about "Buick-Pontiac-Olds Get Together" (BPO) September 1 at NJ's Raceway Park. There was to be individual Show and Race classes specifically for Oldsmobiles, which meant it was already set up for us to just show up and party. Then, since it's close enough to the shore, anyone that wanted to hit the beach or boardwalk that night could have.
We talked about it since last February when the schedule was 1st announced. Sent out reminders every few months.
Then when the time came to go NOBODY went!!!!! And this after folks talked for 2 years about having something here - we finally get one served to us on a silver platter and nobody bothered to go. (Thanks, everybody!)
