well my alero is trying to drive itself with no foot on the gas pedal. the idle is like 2.5k in park and 1.5k in any gear idling no SES or CEL and no vacuum lines loose. throttle isnt stuck open. whats up with this seriously?

Does it do it the whole time you are driving? It is suppose to idle much faster at initial startup to warm the motor up.

i had this problem and it was fixed by replacing the throttle positioning sensor which is on the back side of the throttle body. the part is only like $15 and you can easily do it yourself. thats where i would start if i were you.

does your temp gauge read normally after warm-up? if not, pull your temp sensor and take it to autozone, they can check it for you...they can also check your tps before you buy a new one, so you're not just throwing parts (and money) at the problem, hoping it'll go away.
