what is a gagt hood made of ?
is the hood on a ga gt glass,plastic.or metal ?
i had the idea of skining a gt ga (ram air ) hood on mine i like the look.

I thought they were some type of Polymer plastic hood.

ye thats what i thought but i wanted to check. will fiberglass resin melt abs plastic? i would like to use an abs scoop as a mold.

it wont melt but it wont stick either i wil crack what u wold need to do is drill holes in the plastic piece so the glass has something to stick too

^hey boss im pretty sure hes wainting to just jut the scoops out and mold them into our hood. with still will be alot of work cutting off scoops cutting into fact hood which cant cut to much with out losing the intergity of the hood if the scope is plastic fiberglassin if metal welding then some icin and sanding.
the grandam scoops do go down dont they what i mean its not like the cowl and pops out. id almost say hop on ebay and look up fiberglass or metal scoops and make it just for looks pop rivit on then use some icing and mold it togther ull have to repaint hood

want to get my hand on a factory hood to cut up cuz i cant drive my car with out one. im know stranger to metal work in have three welders,grinders,benders,torch ect so i don't think it will be that diffecult ( 2 a point )
how do you keep the water out? thinking maybe off set over the factory air box scoop there. how do you keep the h2o out of the motor? pan it ?

I think this hood flows better with the more rounded curves and the body lines of the Alero. This is the one I have been eyeing for a while now.
