wiring diagram for a 2001 alero

I found out the adapter you buy is junk. I have wired in the battey and ground and such. I noticed that the speaker wires don't match up with install dr's diagram. I was just wondering if anyone knows the speakers colors and if so could replay telling me which speaker is what. Just trying to save myself time from rewiring the whole car to hook up the speakers. Thanks

i'll have it up in a few minutes. i'm scanning in the haynes wiring diagrams, since the ones on site disappeared.

I ended up rewiring everything. if you scaned them please post i wouldnt mind having them. Im gonna end up buyin the haynes book for the car. They come in handy expesially at a time like this also is the monsoon amp worth keeping or just doing away with and getting a better amp later on, though i know i would have the change out the door speakers which i plan too anyhow just wondering if anyone could shed light on that. I been looking up monsoon amp specs but cant really find anything so i wasn't sure if it was worth holding onto or just something that like most stock parts to a car is pretty lame.

Well I had it all typed up and the server crashed.

I hope you didnt hack the cars harness off. Thats one of the worst mistakes anyone can make.

All factory amps are junk. If you have one running the factory speakers they will do what they were designed to do. If you want to or have replaced the speakers, these amps need to be unhooked. They suck monkey balls in every way shape and form. So to answer you other question, YES buy a new amp.

I might as well as ask why is hacking off the cars wiring harness for the stero a mistake? I wont lie i did out of frustration. I got the adapter and the thing would not work for me. Well it worked but there was cracking sound in the front driver speaker but not like if the speaker was going bad but more like there was interference. I had a mustang and did the same thing and it sounded prefectly fine. Just wondering what problems I may have caused by hacking off the wires right before the gray plug thats suppost to fit perfectly with the adapter. Also thanks for your post of that link im checking it out now.

I did the same thing with mine, just cut off the harness.
It's not pretty but it works, and easily put back together when I sell the car (if I ever do)

Well its a mistake simply because its creating a hack job. Especially when you go to put the stock radio back in. Its just plain unnecessary and an unwise situation. If you solder your connection and heat shrink it, its not to bad... But even at that, someone eventually is going to see it and say WTF???

Im all to used to see the various hack jobs... Itsd amazing what people do and cant figure out why it doesnt work, doesnt work right, doesnt sound right... and so forth...
