LIMG Replacement
I know I've had this problem since I bought the car at 82k miles. It now has 85k and I haven't done nothing much to help it except feed it's thirst when required. Anyways, I think it's way past due and I really should fix this. Hereare my two options:
One: Let my dad fix it. I can safely say he's as good as any mechanic out there. I know he can do it, he just told me the problem is just logging all the stuff.
Two: A neighbor down the street who is pretty damn great (Awesome paint jobs he does, too) says he'll do it for 375+parts.
Anyways, on my second option. If I do hire him to do it, will I be able to get a refund from GM? My car is a '99 with 85k miles on it like I said before.
Decisions, decisions.....

Is this the first time it has gone ur Damn lucky. I have a 99 w/85k and 3 times had it replaced twice at my exspense.

there is an article somewhere that says GM will pay for it to be fixed, since its a common issue. i'd say take it to the dealer.

I've done it before and its not that hard of you have some mechanical knowledge. It's just a lot of stuff to take off and put back together. Ge a good manual and you shouldn't have a problem. I did mine in a weekend and ha was the first time i really tore into anything bigger than a snowmobile.

Well,
If I take it to the dealer, what do I tell them? Will I need any special paperwork? Or will they know it is a recall through their system and requires fixing by them....for free lol.

I don't think anything has been finalized about that yet so it could be a while before you see any money back, but i could be wrong.

$375 is a bit pricey for 4-6 hour take your time job.
I would just help your dad and go at it yourself.
As you take pieces off put the bolts into the holes which they came out.
Most of the bolts its hard to confuse mix up. Theres many common sizes and the ones that are different are by a substantial amount. Only place I got a little mixed up on is the upper intake.
Take pictures as you go and one to start out with, in case you get lost.

Just make sure you put the pushrods back in the right spot.

^^^forgot about that, ya make sure you lable them when you take em out. I used a sheet of paper with the cyl. number and then exhaust and intake then i taped the pushrod to the corresponding cylender and exhaust or intake mark.
