Which ones positive?

Well, got pulled over tonight. The same cop I was complaining about being a rooster before decided to make it up by giving me a warning. I bought my headlight assemblies from AnderbrA about a year and a half ago, and they were in excellent condition. However somehow his wires to the bulbs were cut so he rigged his own custom setup with no solder.. I thought okay they work.. theyve worked all this time but finally the custom job came loose and the thing just came apart. so what i need to know is, on the passenger headlight assembly I have a red and a white wire. Im thinking the red is probably negative. but id like to be absolutely sure Which one is positive?

In general, red is hot and white is ground. But get a $15 multi-meter at Sears and you can find out.

^^or you could get a 2 dollar test light, and put the aligator clip to a good ground and probe the wires...if you see the light light up then its hot if not then it is ground. Simple

im with lonnie, only thing im wondering is how much current is going thru the headlight. Maybe the test bulb will just explode lol

Current is based on the bulb. Voltage is what is important.
