rear disc ?'s
Hey all. Happy Easter to everyone. so i recently went to a junkyard and ripped out the spindles and calipers of an alero and was wanting to swap them over to my car, But my question was how necessary is changing the proportioning valve with the swap. the actual valve is located in the littler stem next to the booster i believe. I dont have ABS but im not too sure if that even matters. Could i please get some feedback from someone whos done the swap before? Also if it is necessary to switch out, where can you find it on that gmparts site? is it the pressure metering valve? Or is it the booster check valve? again thanks for any input.

Well, theoretically that combination is impossible to find parts for. GM never produced a 4 wheel disc N-Body without ABS.

Yep.. there were these possible brake systems.
4-Wheel disc w/ABS. All 99-02, optional on 03-04 V6 and 4-cyl fleet orders.
Disc/Drum w/ABS. Optional on 02-03 4-cylinder models
Disc/Drum without ABS. Standard on all 02-03 models.

I can answer this one for ya, YES! Disk brakes all around are the best. I have drilled and slotted rotors and they work GREAT (once i replace my 2 front calipers, cause they are going to shit...lol)

Are you sure on that? All the 99-02 should have 4 wheel disc.
