I am looking into a possible carputer, just the early beginning stages, I found a touch screen w/ controller and driver here, someone in an earlier post had found this: http://www.digitalww.com/touchpanel_controler.htm but my question is, has anyone tried to hook a control to their carputer to control their neon lights, like tie them all into one source or somehow, or is this just something that is outta the question? Also I see many people have totally different setups, all to their own likings and most have custom built theirs, so I would also appreciate any advice on perhaps what I should look at to make a working carputer...thanks for the help...

Sure you can control your neons with the comp. Just use a relay box. If you want the easy route than get yhour self an HP e-PC. Its small and runs off dc power. Than just get your self a laptor car adapter off ebay for 20 bucks. Than just add a screen. the computer as it sits fits pefectly under the passengert seat if you remove the spring and bend the braket that the spring atatches too. If you wanted to tear it apart you could probibly shrink the size down plus you could upgrade the cd drive to dvd no problem with a laptop drive because thats what it has to begin with so it has the hard to find apadter. Have fun.
