Including 2 gears with adjustable settings and a chain, $244.99 isn't bad at all. Adjustable cam gears for the Ecotec are $350 and you only get the two gears.

Looks great man. What else have done so for to the engine buildup? I want to get my project on my 3400 pretty soon. I'm just gathering data and money before i jump on. If you have any tips for me just let me know or pm me.

i didnt relize that other timing chains costed so much. the ones for the 4.3 are barely half that, but it is pretty much a 350 timing chain.

Well, let's just start by saying that most of the stuff that I have been doing probably isn't 100% necessary some of it is really probably overkill, but I only want to build the motor once, and that is just how I am.

Anywhoo I have had several problems getting the bottom end how I want it but as it stands for the bottom end it is

3400 block with .020 overbore
3500 crank reground to rod specs with radiused ends
custom radiused rod bearings
TCE External Crank Trigger
TCE double roller timing chain
800 hp scat SBC rods (ground to fit)
ARP main studs
custom comp cam
solid lifter conversion
various dry sump parts

upper end will get fully massaged too, the goal is to get the car running NA by the early part of next summer and work the kinks out before I apply the boost

not high compression well at least not until boost is applied, high output is the reason for this particular part....

what does the radiused crank ends do for you? and what is an external crank trigger?

when I ground down the crank, I had both sides where the rod would fit radiused, It gives it more strength. Usually how the v8s are when you would be building them up. External Crank Trigger - http://wot-tech.com/shop/3400/extern...r/prod_42.html

Basically I went to the 3500 crank because it is a forged steel crank, the 3400 crank is not and I bent the crank in my last motor. The 3500 crank has i believe a 52 tooth wheel and our crank is a 7 tooth wheel so you bolt on the ECT so you can use the 3500 crank or for a full 3500 swap....
