Run 1/2 tank, not a 1/4.

Car will run faster with a 1/2 tank becasue the fuel pump won't have to work as hard.

Ran my 14.82 at E-town (where the car NEVER runs 14's) with a 1/2 tank

NO NO NO NO don't do that.

The track isn't exactly the cleanest place, and the K&N style doesn't restrict flow that much

What are you running, CAI or WAI?

remove as much spare metal as possible. i usually start with the top of the engine... the hood.. trunk lid.. wheel well covers... remove all the seats (use a small plastic bucket instead)

you can drop 3/4 of the tranny out.. its just dead weight...

hmm....what else....

LOL ^^

that reminds me of a video clip I saw of a brand new either mitsubishi evo or a subaru wrx sti with -everything- gutted off of it.. doors, windows, seats, body panels.. all that was left was the engine, frame, steering wheel, drivers seat, and the gas / brake pedal.

it tore ass down the street too-

^ In HS Auto Shop, we did that to some huge boat of car. I don't remember the model off hand but it had a 455 cu. engine. By the time we were done hacking everything out (including the entire body), all that was left was the engine, frame, dash & steering wheel, drivetrain, and the gas tank. We bolted in a few 2'x4's for a bench seat.

Shop teacher got in and couldn't go anywhere. The motor was so powerful and 90% of the weight was in the front, so the back tires could never get traction and they just smoked forever!

I read an article like that

They took an old Caddie with a 502 and ran it on the 1/4 mile

together is ran in the high 18's. by the time they were done stipping in down to the frame, and I mean everything including the body parts, and it ran in the 13's

Too much weight removal is bad for a street car

The Detla needs a full tank of gas and the spare and jack to get traction, an extra 170 lbs
