4th of July & the Alero

yeah, I haven't been on too much in the last 2 weeks because i've been up at our cottage in Port Austin, MI. I'm actually in the public library right now because i'm bored as heck. Anyhow, my car's been through hell in the last 2 weeks, especially on the 4th of July. I was in the parade with a bunch of my buddies and we were going to be on this kid's old ford that has an enormous lift kit. since we're delinquients, we decided that it would be fun to have two 40 gallon garbage cans filled with water on hand to fill up super-soakers and soak the crowd as we went. well, one of them got tipped before the parade began and i volunteered to go home and refill it. bottom line: on the way back, the garbage can tipped in my trunk, filling my car with 40 gallons of water. i had a waterfall over my rear seat and then eventually, i had 3 inches of water in my interior. it was great and took 3 days to dry even after i shop-vac'd it all out. then, on saturday, the same ford from the parade blew up in some random farmer's wheat field and my friends called me to rescue them and my dad was gone with our truck so I took my car off-roading for the first time and nearly got her stuck and I think i started a mild fire with my catalitic convertor. Then, last night, we were all bored so i piled 8 people in the alero and we went on a wild fire chase, following the fire department all over huron county and it was fun. so, i'm guilty of abusing my car but it goes to show how hardy they are.

Hmmm lets see...

On the 3rd my seat broke... I took it out and had it welded. It broke on the 4th- again.

On the 4th I got to our camp site 2 hours away. The window regulator broke with the window DOWN... No tools... Plastic and duct tape...

Over the entire weekend cars run a bit wierd with a small surge...
