Car resetting ?

Anybody had their car "reset" at start up?

Let me explain this: yesterday I get in the car as usual after work and start the car as usual. However, at start up, the needles go all the way to max (7000 rpm, 240 km/h, Full gas, Overheating) and goes back downs just like when you unplug or plug back the cluster. Also, my trip mileage was reset that way.

Anyone ever experience that?

By the way, my aftermarket radio wasnt reset that way.

the grand am's are supposed to do that. its something about ponitacs where they call it a gauge sweep.

alero's aren't programed to do that.

i'm convinced its a voltage problem. take it to murray's or autozone and have your battery and alternator tested.

I might tend on the battery side because the stock alt went out on the last owner who replaced it like 2 years ago with a stronger alternator. I really hope its not the alt, because I dont really feel like getting the supercharger out and in AGAIN

I'll check the battery or maybe something is loose from when I tighted the connection back when installing my supercharger. That may sound noobish as hell, but could I check the battery with my voltmeter putting both wires on both battery poles or is it better to use like the wire from the cubby hole?

By the way, the car is cranking hard and I have no light dimming at night and I have 2 amps.

2 amps as in stereo amps or in your battery? if its in your battery its definately bad and if you mean for the stereo that would be why your alt. would be going out so soon again.

lol its 2 amplificator for speakers. I have one like 100 W for speakers in the car and one 600 w peak for my sub, but my sub is out of my car for more than half a year

I do not drain enough currrent to screw my alt that soon.
