edit: redoing entire post..
I think you would need to do a bit more work than just swap out the dash.. probly more work than you'd be willing to do

well yae that is a givin its not gunna just screw on!! but im saying the alero and grand am are the same unibody car basically, just a different shell, so it should fit.. i would have to put the ga gauge cluster.. a pillar, and counsol in to make it look, and fit right.. but i think with a little bit of fab it should work out.. and no such thing as to much work.. u gain skill, learn and the turn out could be preatty cool.. havnt seen any aleros on here with it.. so itd be a first.. i like uniqueness, (hence the stripe)

I terms of placing the dash, Id say youd have to get the center console also, but I think the dash piece would just plug and play where the Alero Dash is. Your biggest concern would be in terms of rerouting the wires and plugging everything.
Edit: After further observations, Id say the door panels may not fit .

you're basically gonna end up doing the entire interior if you want everything to fit correctly and look good.

it'd be sweet to have black seats and have the alero dash re-done with black vinyl to match the seats. a black interior theme would be cool

the grand am door panels will fit right up, but the issue comes in with the grand am door panels buldge more were the upper portion of the door panel and the fuse panel on the dash are.
This will cause the door panel to be set right againts the dash as apposed to having a small gap. Everytime you close your door it will push againts the door panel. Everything else is fine. But the door panel of a grand am will not flow with the rest of the alero's interior.
