hood rods
idk proper terminology but ive always wanted the rode that automatically open hood i cant stand the pro rod. is this a imposible thing to do? is it hard if not? anyone done it? what size do you get if so and does it come with necessary hardware?

mighty lift. autozone sells mighty lift hood lifts....if thats what your referring to.
edit:
its also a pretty basic install. im not certain if the screws come with it. but the hood lifts come up in the autozones system. check out the website. i kno it is listed there

those little hydraulic things that lift the hood automatically after about halfway?
I thought the alero came standard with those O_o

i thought they came with the car standard too. although without a rod there, the hood could always close on your head...

well from what ive seen and read basically the longer alero was out the chittier and cheaper they made them so im guessing ur guys r a lil older then the last couple years. i had 2 friends with aleros and both wer older then 01 and both had better shit like prop rods extra comparments above the head lighted rearview mirrors. thats gm for ya.

actually ive even seen in a posr they are geared differently to making them a wee bit faster in the early alero years. dont know the truth to that tho.

my car redlines in first right before 40 mph.. I think my speedometer is off too, I got pulled over for speeding (47 in a 35) my speedo was reading 40 mph..
which reminds me.. what's the bone stock tire size for an alero.. I have P215/60R/16's on my car right now.. they seem kinda large- I think i've asked that before too.. but i'm to lazy to search on it

hood shocks only came on 99 and early 2000 Aleros.

see those bastards if i woulda done my reaserch i would bought a older alero.as uve all seen i have a thousand posts of tons of things that went wrong with my car i bet thats also due to poor workmanship towards the end to. u never hear aalero owners under 01 complaining theyll tell u its one of the most reliable cars they had. i gotta see how i can get these things on

thats true. my '00 has over 165k and i havent had any real issues. i guess im lucky. and btw i do have the hood shocks, its awesome.
