Little Air Filter Things

What do the little miniture air filter lookking things do on the intake systems, not the intake, but a much smaller filter placed by there in thata rea. I see these on a few number of showcars. Just wondering what they do and are called.

they are called breather filters

they really do nothing for our cars....they're more show than anything..personally i wouldn't go replacing vaccuum hoses with breather filters because that just can't be any GOOD for it (some1 correct me if i'm wrong)

Agreed, 100%....Case breathers ( like commonly found on valve covers ) can be replaced with decent LOOKING filters, but replacing vacuum lines with a breather filter is a big no-no. **How's a vacuum line supplying negative pressure supposed to do it's job when it's exposed to outside pressure levels?**

There are a coupple of places where you can put in a breather if you want, but the only real place would be for the valve cover... and im not even sure if when going to a CAI/WAI you would need that on the 3.4... its nice to have on the Eco, and Ld9
