It's in the car's manual bro......hollar if you don't have yours, I can go copy the instructions from mine....( as far as the theftlock system goes ) I'm thinking if the harnesses are the same, it'll work in your buddy's Cav. Just give it a try. If it won't hook up to the Cav's factory harness, then it won't work, simple as that.

Your car must be fast, you were haulin' ass when I passed you in my 4-door Buick.

im not sure if that will work...
I thout that the HU and the ECM were keyed so that they would only work together Ie no 2 units are interchangeable,
But yes the instructions for theftlock are in your manual, and would be the same in your buddys cavy.
as far as size, and wireing plugs, as long as you have the base model cd HU, not the monsoon, then should be the same deck.

I have a 2003 olds with xm and was under the same assumption. The maual states that the radio is coded for the car. I was thinking about selling the deck but do not want to run into any problems with it working in another vehicle.

Naw dude, you have to be able to switch factory decks. What if yours dies? think about it.

As for moving it to the cavy, i'm 90% sure it would work, if it was another alero i'd say 100% yes.
