clutch pedal stuck on floor

It was -31 celsius and while using the clutch on the way to work this morning (highway driving) it slowly lost resistance travel when I hit the city and used it often and by the time I got to work it had no resistive travel it just went to the floor without doing anything, so I left it while working the day, and came out to find it didn't get any better, the fluid is all there etc.... Is this common, is there a technical service bulletin or easy fix for this?? I dunno if I should have it towed to gm and fixed or leave it until it warms up or put a heater on it somewhere? Please help! Thanks it is 5 speed 01 alero 2.4L

its probley the slave cylinder replace the slave cylinder and bleed the system like disk brakes.... check the lines for kinks for leaking....... check resavar for fluid...

If there is no fluid leak, there is a better chance that it is your master cylinder. You'll be lucky if it is the master over the slave.

Double check for fluid leaks, and fluid color. The hydraulic clutch is fairly simple to follow. However your clutch slave is internal. The labor involved to replace the slave will be about the same as that of having a new clutch installed.

Either way don't rule out the master cylinder. This is likely the cause of the issue, and is really easy to replace.

Well there is no leak at all, the level is good, and no damage that I see, the fluid is clear with a faint dark tint to it barely. I sucked out what I could in the master reservoir and put in fresh warm fluid. I have a hair dryer blowing on the line and area there, maybe I'll leave it for a few hours and see what that does....I noticed a post where one guy had a heated garage and that did the trick for him when this happened to him in extreme cold.

I found this during my many hours of searching lol no details though.....

any hints on how to test if its the clutch master cylinder, as heat does not seem to do the trick.

Sounds like it could be the valves in your master cylinder. If they got frozen they might have blown. This will not allow the fluid to flow correctly and it will not build pressure through the line to the slave cylinder. I'm pretty sure when you buy a new clutch, the slave cylinder comes with it (depending on the kit and brand you buy.) Like Alero_1986 said about the labor involved, you might as well replace the clutch itself while you're at it.

Would anyone happen to have a access to the service bulletin below? I would like to know if it is something pertaining to my constant clutch problems when it is below -32 celsius...I am thinking there must be a thinner brake or clutch fluid you can use for extreme cold conditions, maybe thats what the bulletin says....
