I am looking into getting hid-a-way strobe lights (similar to police), but unsure if i want to drop the money. If anyone has them or knows someone who has them, what are they like, worth it or not. And if they have them on an Alero, how hard was it to install and set up. Thank you

i have strobes in my headlights but i didn't pay all that much. mine are just the street glow headlight strobes. a friend of mine has a show worthy cavalier and he put the heavy duty police strobes in his car in just about every light on the car and i didn't like the way they were done because there was no grommet and they are oddly shaped which means you cannot make a clean cut. the ones i have just require a half inch hole and it comes with the required grommets. mine work just as well as his do and i paid about 1/3 of what he did. i also bought the extra strobe controller so that i can make them do about three different things and change the speed. i would recommend going with the street glow ones unless you are going to use them all the time and want to be seen like cops. but if you are just going to use them at shows and what not then just get street glow. they make a really good product.

If you don't want to drop a ton of cash, there are sets on E-bay or at walmart for about 30$US. They only require a small hole in the headlignt assembly, and they look pretty cool.

A friend of mine just installed a set on his Avalanche, it's pretty sweet looking, but the cops here really really....really don't like it when he turns them on... he got a ticket 2 mins after we installed them...LOL

no, the whelen's are larger.... more expensive, but i've see them in action... sooo freakin bright. but i think one could settle for the street glows for normal show/track use.
