Hey guys, I've searched and searched but yet, I cannot find the size for the dome light. Mine went out today so I need to replace it. Also, does anyone know where I can find this bulb in red? Thanks.

the bulb number is 561. Sylvania's site also list it as being 212-2, but I think that is for the map lights. Dunno where to get it in red.

You could just put some of that red saran wrap on the inside of the lens.

the dome is actually a 212-2 same as the map lights.
now 211 will work and you can get all different colors in those bulbs

just for my own knowledge...then what is the 561 bulb? Here's what Sylvania's site says:
Map light
Part number = 212-2
Dome light
Part number = 212-2
Part number = 561
http://www.sylvania.com/bin/carApp/carApp_...=Alero&x=35&y=3
I've never taken any of these bulbs out so I don't know which is which. I figured the 561 is the dome light seeing as Sylvania has the 212 listed as a map light.

I had never thought about looking there, Spook. But you're right, they had all kinds of colors at the Pilot here. I was going for all red lights inside the car, kinda because it matches the outside of the car. But anyway, I found a really, really, really bright purple. It was almost like a blacklight purple but deeper. So I had to buy it just to see what it looked like. It looked pretty good but I went back to the original color of my choice, red.
Speaking of truckers, I gotta tell ya'll about what happend to me when I was going into the truck stop. I was standing by the door on the outside when my phone started ringing. So I'm standing there, digging in my purse for my phone when this truck driver walked out the door. He was probably in his mid 30's, greasy hair, and looked as if he hadn't shaved in about 2 weeks. He held the door open and asked me if I was going in. I said, um yea in a minute, not even looking up at him. He was like, well if you really don't want to go in, you can go to Chicago with me. I have a really bad habit of speaking before I think. So, I blurted out, Yea, I don't think that's gonna happen. He said, Well if that ain't a big ol kick in the nuts! He shut the door and just walked away. I thought it was kinda funny actually but was watching my back the whole time I was in there.
