Since i did my door pods... i've wondered about doing a full set of doors, with the spares i have laying around. I'm not sure if i will or not... but i have a few questions...

When you do the doors, or dash.. or anything... you obviously use the old piece as a template, and the new FG is layed over it. So how do you go about mounting the new FG to the door/dash? Do you just leave it over the old panel, as a cover? or is there a step i seem to be missing?

thats what i thought... but wouldn't that cause a pretty signicifant depth issue?

unless the door glass is really thin, and a bunch of bondo/milkshake over it?

strip the panel drill holes in the plastic (so glass sticks) and get to glassin. thats how I would do it

so i'm thinking...

I'll use some staples to hold the inital layer of mat down, then follow up with some small flat head screws after that first layer dries. then glass over the top of those.

I'm immediately afraid of going way too thick.. and the door not sealing properly, also, i don't want to go too thin, and have it crack apart.

also have a few ideas for a separate integrated project...

but mostly, if i do this, i'm going to need some good color schemes. I'm going for black and pewter (stock dark gray color) but have no idea how to incorporate that into the final project...
