Disabling 3057 Front Turn Bulbs
How would I go about disabling the 3057 turn signal bulbs on the front when I'm not using them. I want them only to light up when the turn signal or hazard is engaged, not when I'm driving at night.
I already have the DRL's disabled using the relay trick, I imagine I would have to do something along the same lines to disable the 3057's when turn signal/hazards aren't engaged.

What my buddy did (and what I have yet to do) is this:
Since there are two filaments in that bulb (one controlling the running lights and one controlling the lights that flash when you turn), what you can do is just pull out the bulb and put a small piece of electrical tape over the filament that controls the running lights and then reinstall. It's pretty easy, and it worked on my friend's Mazda 3.
Like I said, I haven't done it YET, but when I do (which might actually be done around Sunday or so) I'll let you know and tell you how it went (and of course provide pictures).
And red, you're right, it's not legal, but neither is clearing your corners :P, so whatever...your call.

Can you explain how you disabled your DRL's? Everything I find seems to result in a SES light. Also, do you have HID's?

Yes I have 6000 K HID's from http://www.carhidkits.com/oldsmobile...o-hid-kit-327/ I got the $79.99 version for 9006 bulbs (low beams) and after seeing the difference from halogen, I'm ordering the 9005 bulbs (high beams) in the next few days.
I disabled my DRL's using these instructions: http://www.aleromod.com/forums/showt...isable+drl%27s
I put a piece of cardboard in between the contacts of the relay. Make sure you are using the correct relay...the person writing the thread stated relay #24. I will check in my fusebox tomorrow to make sure that's the right one.

i think cleared corners is legal because they're putting amber bulbs in space of the amber lens, im pretty sure a Buick came stock with completely clear headlights, the turn signal portion just lights up amber
these are amber 194 bulbs for an FYI in case anyone asks,

so are you saying you want them to be completely shut off or, do you want like a relay so you can turn them on at your own will?
and AR, triple post FTL.=]

the picture of the 3057 bulb above is white, the amber 3057's have an orange coating on them.
RisenequinoX-I want the 3057 amber bulb disabled when I'm not using the turn signal or hazard lamps. Look at the picture at the very top and put your finger over the part that's lit up amber. It would look better with the amber not lit up at night.
I'm going to disable the running light filament and post up the correct relay for disabling drl's later on today.

Relay #22 is the DRL relay, NOT 24.

from the above link i posted:
slip peice of folded paper between the bottom most contacts (there is a contact in the middle of 2 contacts.. it will be touching the top contact.. slip the the paper between the middle and bottom contact.. it should be open... this will prevent the middle contact from moving down and touching the bottom contact when your car is on, thus preventing your drls from turning on
