Lifter Question

Working on my work car 01 grand am gt. Doing a head gasket for pvm as I just finished my alero and figured why not keep ahead on the ga. But anyways. Pulled the lifters to check them and the springs seem seized up in some. When you push they don't want to go down. So I pulled one apart and cleaned the crap out of it. Anyone else ever have to do this? after cleaning it works perfect.

well Brandon the resistance you are feeling is a common occurance. It is not that there is anything wrong with the lifter. But the fact of oil inside the lifter causing pressure when trying to push. Nothing to worry about.
