wai for a dd

hey
Just wondering if you guys think a wai would save any money on gas in canadas climate compared to a stock intake. Also how much is a good quality one?

if you do not change your driving habits, a new intake can help you save some gas. However, the intake will change the sound of your engine and I can almost guarantee you will be flooring the gas pedal, thus negating the gas savings effect.

good quality intakes can go anywhere from $19.99 USD on ebay, to a week's paycheck. how much you spend is really up to you. On the 3400, realistically, all you need is the filter and a short piece of intake tubing (4inches/10cm or so). So I highly suggest being careful in your decision (if you go on ebay). if it is expensive on a WAI, it better be a good filter.

What would be a good brand off of ebay because no stores in my area carry them and I don't recognize any of those name brands that I found. They also only defferentiated between cold air intake and air intake (not WARM air intake). is that basically the same thing? Any help would be awesome. Thanks

Just realised that you're from Buffalo AlbinoMonkeyRat. Wainfleet is only about 20 minutes from that border and I go there about every 2-3 weeks. Are there any good stores down in buffalo that you would recommend?

buffalo? no. we have nothing. everything bought here, is bought online.

the best stores we have, are autozone/advanced auto/napa

get a decent ebay one or make one yourself. I've been running a WAI on my car for a few years and it runs fine all year round. I average 27mpg hwy.

Cherry lives even closer to the border than I do...but I will say that WNY has no good retail market for aftermarket parts for our cars. Online FTW. And to back up Caboose: K&N is a reputable filter. any other reputable filter will work well too. (the garbage filters that come with the intakes on ebay also work for a period of time....)
