Several come up for my VIN#. The first one is the one I actually have. Looks like someone did a little “tuning” themselves.

Somebody on HPTuners forum had asked if you could use a different VIN# in their PCM, with their original OS# (operating system).
The different OS numbers available raised more questions, for me, at least. Like were there ongoing improvements to the same year model, are they still available, and if those "corrections" were made, why doesn't my car have those original issues, etc.

i have all the same ones you have, but i have one before all those too..
9386584 9386577 N/A New calibration to correct loss of power when accelerating caused by false spark retard
so does this mean these are things the PCM has been tuned for or what? i still have no idea what this means.

Apparently the OEM engineers made ongoing updates/corrections to the PCMs as needed.

That's what I'd like to know, too. I think the higher #'s are the most recent. Every now and then I'll see somebody post in a forum saying his car has one of those symptoms and can't find out why. Maybe this has something to do with it.

I have 3 Changes...they're reflected in the GM service information available for my car...
P/N:12201544
Cal. ID:12201467
Description: Calibration to correct P1441 from setting on a hot restart.
P/N:9389464
Cal. ID: 9389352
Description: New calibration to correct BCM dome light issue
P/N:9382784
Cal. ID: 9382732
Description: Control module calibration
Should these mean anything to me?

No, unless you experience any of those issues.
I think it is also good to scan your car, to find out which OS # is actually in it.
I picked one PCM out of a junkyard '99 Alero, and it scanned as a '98 Cutlass, iirc. Of course, that doesn't mean it was running right just before it got to the junkyard...

well, the info from the dealership says that my car's transmission was reprogrammed and now I have transmission shifting issues so any idea if that would be related to the last one I listed above?

I guess that would depend on when it was reprogrammed, i.e. did it come from the factory like that, and when the tranny problems started and what is the nature of the problems. It is certainly possible.

it was towed to the dealership and the service statement says that it had an injector replaced, a fuel pressure valve, and the transmission reprogramed.

In that case, I would get specific info from the dealership on what was done to the PCM, and tell them you started having issues after it was done, especially if they charged for the programming.
