Impala rear third brake light install
Okay, I read through some articles, and they say that an LED 3rd brake light from a certain year Impala will fit in the Alero. One question, is it a direct bolt in replacement?? I ask this, because I bought one off of Ebay, and it is NOT a direct bolt in replacement. Is the idea to take the LED board out of the Impala 3rd brake light, and put it into the Alero 3rd brake light? Cause I could do that, a little soldering, some hot glue, and VOILA, I have an LED 3rd brake light. I just got the idea it was a direct bolt in replacement????

No Kilroy, you are right, you have to pull the board and find some way to secure it, its not a direct bolt-in

Well, That makes me feel a whole lot better. Cause, it ALMOST looks like it will fit! At least now I know what to do. Thanks for the info.

You will love the way it looks. I went the other way about it and bought LED strips from oznium. But it all works the same.

ya, i didnt have to glue it in either. actually had to sand a tiny bit down from the edges to get it to fit flush. the only problem i had was the red wire, where it was soldered to the board came loose. and i have never had experience soldering before, so it was a little bit challenging to not burn myself or the circuit board. and for thse who wanted pics here is when i did it.
