i'm working on installing a switch plate, and have already installed some cold cathodes and a few leds around my interior. i noticed that my dash lights are out, as well as the map light (cubby hole infront of shifter) and lights in my shift display (pnrd123) are also out. my guess is a blown fuse, but which and where is it?

most likely its in the fuse panel on the drivers side, when you open your door look on the side of your dash and you will see the panel you need to pull off to access it. couldnt tell you exactly which but you can figure that out, if its not there theres a fuse panel on the passenger side same location and under the hood but i doubt its there.

if your talking bout your parking lights/dash lights. The fuse is under the hood in the fuse box. Its a 15amp fuse. Right by the relays, towards the front by/near the DRL relay. I think its number 33 or 35 in the diagram.

U sure? Cuz they're all connected together. Your SVS (service vehicle soon light should be on too when you pop the fuse) If the parking lights (not the brake lights as in when you step on the brake pedal) on the outside still light up.. Then I think you fried your dimmer switch or worse comes a part of your BCM computer module might be fired since it senses and control the ground loop.

I think i would know. Last week, I had to fix my billet license plate frame light. It was shorting out somewhere on the frame. Everytime, I turned on my parking light, it popped a fuse. With the parking light fuse, went all of my parking (aka running lights) on the outside. All my interior dash lights, too. Took me 1 pack of 15 amp fuses, and some electrical tape and fixed. My light bulb in the license plate frame was hitting the ground on the license plate frame from the positive side of where the electricity flows to the bulb. .

Aight.. for your map lights that you mentioned.. that one is a fuse inside the car. I think its the right side fuse panel. You should see something like Interior lights (int light). 10amps.

But this has nothing to do with the dash lights. This fuse only controls dome light, floor light, map light. Unless they changed it.. I dunno since I got the repair manual for a 99-00 since mines a 2000.

if you undid the wiring and replaced the fuses and everything works fine check the wiring whether its grounding out or the wirings mixed up.......just so you dont keep blowing anything........
