Please eveybody take note to the classes:
Stock means that your car doesn't have to have nothing done to it to compete, so that excuse is now out the window

This is going to sound like a noob question and I'm sure it's been answered before, but this would be my first year attending so I need to know roughly what is a good number cash wise to save up for with registration, hotel, food, gas, etc. costs?

Hotel: ~ $275. You could split it with someone and share a room for half.
Gas: ~ $200. North west Tennessee to Lansing is ~625 miles. Take gas at maybe $3.00 a gallon by next summer. Averaging conservatively saying 20 miles to the gallon.
Spending money: $100 or so, could probably do with a lot less, but it's good to have some just in case.
Registration: ~ $40ish I think, but this happens well before ASS.
You could be good with like $500.

Gas would depend on driving habits and MPG of your car.
From Philly to Lansing it's 701 miles and I fill up twice. I stop around Cranbury PA and then again just outside Lansing. I've been taking the "long way" by going all the way thru Ohio to Indana and getting on the Interstate of Love (I-69) and going up to Lansing. It's better than cutting thru Michigan during rush hour. And I get to see the "Happy Barn" between 280 and 75 in Ohio.
Anyway. I run 91 or better and it cost me around $70 for gas one way, plus "travel food". The hotel comes in right under $300 if you bunk alone. You'll need about maybe around $100 for food. We do dinner at Hooters on Friday night and there is a McDonald's Across the street from the hotel. Plus you get free breakfast in the hotel also. I nice hot breakfast, not a bunch of hard doughtnuts sitting in a plastic bin.
The swap meet has a lot of cool stuff too. Not too many Alero parts right now, but they are starting to show up since the car is getting older. There are people that sell other things like mock road signs and stuff.
As for signing up for the show itself, You'll be doing that within the next few weeks so that's all paid for already.

Ok................I think I must explain something for all the new people on Aleromod or new people to ASS.
ASS is put on by The Alero Chapter of the Oldsmobile Club of America. The Alero Chapter is seperate from Aleromod. We are our own part of the Olds club formed out of aleromod.
To be a member of the Alero Chapter you must be a member of the Oldsmobile club of America. Being a member or VIP or staff on aleromod does not make you a member of the Alero Chapter.
I know there is always confusion and some people don't know the difference or what it all means. So I hope I explained it and if it came off ruff i appoligize was just trying to be thorough.
