No reception

Hi guys,

all of a sudden, the reception on my aftermarket radio/cd player has gone very bad.

I was told this could be due to a, forgive my english, a separation module that sits behind the back seat that separates the signal for the rear defrost and antenna. It probably is blown.

anyone knows if this is a common failure? If so, what is the proper english description and perhaps part number?

Thanks!

I've had the same issue, but I've never gotten the motivation to find the problem and fix it. My rear defroster, like so many others, doesn't work, so I had always assumed it had to do with that known issue somehow.

It's a small black box module behind the plastic of your passenger side c pillar. I think the plugs are known or to bad on them or maybe it's the module itsself I can't quite remember. Do some testing to make sure the module is getting power before you drop money on a new one.

That's a good one, because I had them removed about two weeks ago when I replaced the rear speakers...perhaps I've hit something and disconnected it...

Thats the amplified antenna box.

It will boost the signal received by the antenna in the glass.

It needs to be hooked in properly up front also, switched 12V.
