Well i just got off the phone from the guy that is fixing my trans and he has it all put together but when he went to test drive it it slipped into second a few times. it didnt do it every time but maybe 4 out of 10 times. well at work today he looked up the symptoms and it turns my wai is doing something to the maf sensor and causing a drop in line pressure between 1st and 2nd. this makes no sense i have never heard of this. opinions?

You don't have a MAF sensor. The WAI does nothing to affect anything.

Invite me over to talk to the "mechanic." Also why was your trans "broke?" 4T40E's don't typically go. The factory tune allows the trans to shift slow on the 1-2 every once in a while. It's a very, very common concern on j-body and everyone who has the 4T40E. Bump up the shift pressure and lower the shift time, and it's fixed.

Thats exactly why im confused. i have NEVER heard of a wai causing tranny problems. what the hell else could it be?

Exactly. where and what does the tccs do? sorry if its a dumb question. if its inside the tranny chances are it got replaced

does someone have a pic of the tccs? he ordered a solenoid for it today and i think that sounds like it. he said they are pretty common to fail.

well i just got my car back a little while ago. i was over there all morning helping him and the solenoid he ordered was the TCCS. we took the tranny side cover off, swapped the solenoid and now it shifts like its brand new. thanks nate and ion for the info.
