led turn signals/hazards

i just called my local state patrol asking whats legal for your turn signals and hazards, he said in ohio, they can be red, amber,or what ever color the factory tail lights have you can have for your signals up front, so i said i can have red, amber correct? "yes". So, to cover my A$$ i wrote his name down so when i get the red small 4 led's and the big 8 or 12 forget how many led's if i get pulled over i can give them his name...... What is you opinion on red over amber

i know here red and blue are not allowed on the outside of the vehicle unless its headlights. Markers, license plate, and corners all have to be white or amber, i have gotten by with blue markers but they were more white..... i would stick with amber

Stick with amber... Not worth getting in trouble with the police over it... Plus, I think it would look kinda gay...

What he ment was the rear could be red, as long as it came that way from the factory. Use your head.

The hazards and turn signals are the same bulbs and I would stick with the amber. Anything else and you are just gonna be asking for a cop to pull you over. Stick with the amber, and if you are gonna go LED then get amber LED's.

So u have this all on tape? Going to hire a lawyer to fight the system when your ass gets a ticket?
You can get away with white or amber up front others you'll get pulled over with a quickness.
Throw LEDs or something inside to enhnce the enterior then something that I consider dumb and ricey to exterior

You can't have red lights on the front of your car while it's moving, they are reserved for police and other emergency type vehicles. I highly doubt a cop told you that you could, and if he did, then he shouldn't be a cop.

And just an FYI, when you get pulled over and ticket, and possible your car impounded, for impersonating a police officer, the judge isn't going to give two shits about what some 25k a year coffee sipper told you over the phone.

Look man, not to start anything but I am gonna have to just come out and call BS. A cop would not tell you that unless you misunderstood it that way. There is no way they would tell you something that is clearly breaking a law and say that it would be fine. Just stick with the stock lighting colours because they are there for a reason. It is standardised through all car manufacturers what colours they can use and what they can't and it should stay that way.

If this is the same cop that apparently closed off a freeway for your joy riding then he is probably just waiting for you to mess up to get an easy ticket. That is my opinion and advice. If you like it and follow it that's great if not, to each their own.
