I was looking around on Ebay and I found this girl that was selling some modification (Intake Sensor Modification Resistor)that was not only cheap but also was supposed to give 20+hp! I'm going to ask her if she has another or where I can find one.

Please don't fall for this. Do a search on it here and you will see. It's a resistor you can buy at radio shack for pennies, and it doesn't do anything anyways.
A tip for the future... if it seems too good to be true, especially for our cars, then it is too good to be true.

Do not waste your money, it's a 47 Ohm resistor, It tricks the MAF sensor into thinking the car's getting more air than fuel, the computer compensates by adding more fuel..........
LIKE 3.4 said pennies at any electronic store.

oh and to Travis...
I saw lots of these modifications all by different people, this guy (I guess it's not a girl) seemed the most honest and he got the best satisfaction rating or something like that.
it supposed to fool the computer into thinking the air is 38 degrees F, and this one has a resistance value of 3,000 ohms.

Now i've seen the mod where you trick the oxygen censor and can get like 5 horses out of that, but someone explain to me how you can just "fool" the engine into giving up an extra 20+ hp just by using a resistor <_<

easy.... the computer gets input from the sensors. Adding a resistor makes the computer get a smaller reading from one of the sensors. It still doesn't do anything.
And yes, Mach1, lots of people have tried it. It has been dynoed in the past, and anyone who tells you it works is full of it. They might be very nice people to deal with but that is because they're trying to charge you $20 for something that costs pennies for them to make.

honestly I have to say, it sounded like a good buy, Basically it fools the engine (we all know this) but it fools the computer so that it increases the timing on the engine (a proven way of increasing hp). so I said what the hell and bought it for 8 bucks

I have a full CAI that actually gives the engine more air and colder air.....and I didn't get an extra 20HP.....thats for sure!
Not seeing how this could ever claim to do that.

well if I hate it (which i'm not doubting I will) I'll just sell it to some other guy just like me.
Ill say it was tested by motortrend and is proven to give 20 OR LESS horsepower
Results may vary A LOT
