Wiring Info

OK I'm going to be installing my new gauges tomorrow and I'm look to make the wiring a lot easier.

My question is since I put in my factory navi radio I have a lot of extra pins to play with and instead of splicing I'm going to be hooking into the extra pins.

Now there is no connection between the "dimmer" pin and the navi radio, so if I hook into the dimmer, will I get lighting? There is a pin in for the "lighting" which it's hooked into now.

I have a free ign pin, no prob there

If I recall, from installing my radio, the dimmer wire does not actually give you 12V, it's just a signal or something to let what ever your hooking it up to know that the headlights are on.

But dont quote me on that, I could (and probably am) dead wrong
