Weird Auto light/Radio question

So I put in a new cd player in the olds just tonight. I ended up blowing a fuse on the passenger side (the Radio Batt fuse) and replaced it.

However, now my interior dim switch and new radio will not work when my lights are in Auto mode. They work just fine when I switch the lights up to parking lights. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Also, I just taped up the wires so hopefully it won't short again.

Thanks in advance,
Michael

You would be way better off with butt connecting the wires then taping them.

is youre parking brake on? I know that will cause the Auto lights to stay off if applied before the car is started

slownlow43 is an unknown quantity at this point
Sounds to me like you have a ground not connected somewhere, or grounded to a power circuit that closes when the lights come on.
