thinking about buying an HID kit....

So I'm thinking to buy an HID kit for a little more visibility. Don't get me wrong my HID look bulbs are bright... but I would like brighter. And liking the looks of em.

ive seen a couple people on here running HID kits. and i have some questions now.. and maybe some later so please help me out here.

1. Those of you running HID kits on your car, how does it look without having projectors? *from what i have been reading without projectors the light scatters and you dont get as much performance out of the lights as you can with projectors.

yet i have seen tahoes, jimmy's, suburbans on youtube running hids and it doesnt look bad with there stock headlights and also some cars.

2. what kelvin "k" and watts do you guys have, and do you blind people with it? (i.e people flash there lights at you?)

3. also what is a "dual in, dual out harness? is it necessary for a 35W hid kit?

4. will i need the error eliminator harness?

thanks for the help!

1. Use the search button, there is a ton of people who run HID's without projectors
2. most common is 5-8k the higher the number, the more blue the light gets, which translates into less usable light. and again people have used both the 35W and the 55W the key to not blinding people really is just aligning the lights properly, sure once in a while you will get people who just think you blinding them because of the light output, but as long as you align them properly you should do fine

You won't get that nice smooth light like a projector has, but it's not garish or anything. I left mine at the stock adjustment settings as well.

I prefer in the 4300-5000K range. That's where you're going to get the most light on the road. Sure, the higher ones do look cool but I personally find the color that is down on the road to be a bit uncomfortable for any length of distance at night.

You won't need any error eliminator harnesses. But if what I'm thinking that "dual-in dual-out" harness is, it may help for the occasional HID not igniting properly and having to shut the lights off and back on again to get it to work.

im running without projectors in my alero and I have 0 issues with performance wise, so does my GF's neon and my buddy's g5. I own the 35 watt kit and 55 watt kit. my 35 watt kit ( for low beams ) is 6k's thats the color I love and amazing performance. as for the 55 watt kit I got 8k's because the extra power that it putout gets rid of the blue thats in it so it makes it seem like 6k's.

as for the dual in and dual out, its perfered to have those kits because they mean they were made better the ones without them I have owned once before in my aurora and I had a few issues here and there with them.

Thanks guys for the inputs!

Yeah I am getting mine from ddm I looked at reviews on em first didn't see anything bad.

I might do 35w 8k or 55w 10k I'm not sure... recommendations?

my suggestion is to not do that lol, just like cliff said, the blue sucks for long distance, if you are going to 35W and 55W you should do the same as rob IMHO
