Hood

heyy hows it going everyone, i was wondering if anyone knew if they make a stock looking plastic hood for the alero? or whatever it's made out of. i know they don't have any carbon fiber ones. and i'm not a fan of cowl hoods. any input is much appreciated.

stock CF painted stock color would be nice... but 10 pounds isn't going to shave half a sec off your et either

I have an oem CF hood, full pin on. It weighs 5lbs max, and I bet the stock hood is at least 50lbs, probably closer to 100....

FG/CF ftw. polyurethane was never made into hoods because engine heat would surely warp, if not melt, it.

i'm not doing it for wieght reasons, my car is not a drag car. no weight reduction of it is going to make a big difference if any at all besides making it look like shit with a gutted interior. i love the look of carbon fiber goods, or just black ones at that. i just don't want to spend money on the metal stock replacement, if i spend money i want a carbon fiber one or a fibergladd one or something along the lines of that. but no cowl, IMO i hate cowls.

nope...

Hood options:
1. Stock
2. Stock design made with CF (may also be a FG option, not sure)
3. Cowl design CF or FG (2'' or 4'' IIRC)
4. NeverdoneUSA hood (in production)
5 Duraflex Spyder 3 hood

I would say option 2 isn't really an option since they are more rare than option 3. I'm actually pretty sure I am the only one still on Aleromod who has one.

My front bumper is the VFiber one I think. After the crash that forced me to completely replace the bumper, I'm pretty sure AAS sent me the VFiber version of their bumper. I seem to recall it having a tag glassed into the inside of it stating such. It's no more fragile than the original.
