Soundstream Xstream 6.9

so i ordered these speakers from etronics. 200watts rms. 30oz magnet. for $49.99. i take them outta the box and they are much bigger then the ones in there now. MUCH bigger. so i'm wondering how do i get the old ones out, and get the new ones in? anyone else put bigger 6.9's in and what did you do to get them in? dremel? file?

well...I don't know how qualified I am to answer you, as I'm still running my stock 6x9s....but have you tried removing the old ones and putting the new ones in to see if the mounting screws line up, or if it fits at all?

I used an air saw to cut my rear deck for my infinity kappa's. They fit fine in the stock speaker basket, just the magnent on that thing was so damn huge it wouldn't sit in the rear deck all the way. Trimmed around the hole a bit, and slapped it in. Good as gold. I did dynamat my rear deck while doing this.

Once you take apart your back seat and get the deck cover off, it's pretty easy to get things going.
