Rear tire bent outwards after getting pulled out of snow
Hey guys,
So tonight the Alero got stuck in well a lot of snow, the guy that pulled it out couldnt find anything under the rear of the car to hook it to, so they hooked it to the part that sits right in front of the E-Brake cable on the rear passanger side of the car.
Well and yes after it was pulled out the tire is now bent outwards at the front and in at the rear.
Has anyone ever had this pleasure yet and if so or the name of the part they hooked it to so I can order a new one would be great!
Its the same part as the bent one in this picture, I tried to look it up by rear lateral rod but cant find the part anywhere. so just the name of what it's called and maybe where i could find one to replace it with
http://www.aleromod.com/forums/showt...rear+tire+bent
Thanks everyone!

Thanks for the clairfication on the name for sure for me, Yeah I know it wasnt even a hard pull when the guy pulled it out, I know next time to say oh no no no find somewhere else to hook it to, on my other cars there is the tow hooks and tie spots but my alero dont seem to have any that he seen, I havent looked to see if there is and maybe he just didnt see them.
Thanks so much for the help!

I'm not sure where a guy would tie on to. I know there's subframes for the engine and the rear suspension, but not too sure if they're actually anywhere to attach to them.

there is a small place on the subframe for the engine but I couldnt find another place without tearing anything up..I had to tow a GAGT a few days ago. finding a place to tie on was a PITA.

Thanks for the info, this summer I'm definitely going to weld on some tow hooks to those sub frames then.

You could've went to the crossmember in the rear. The part the lateral links bolt on to in the middle.

I just had this happen to me. Guy hooked onto the front left rear lateral link and it kinked, so the front of my LR wheel was too far in. Replaced the link, got an alignment, and now all is well again.

Yeah had to use the same style, was at my parents in middle of nowhere south Oklahoma where all the GM parts depts are closed on the weekends, and of course the roads are not touched when it snows or ice out. The nearest dealership that had a parts dept open was 32 miles away and for some unknown reason they did have the part. I looked up the write up for the swap outs on them and I have to say I like the GP bars a lot better just from the looks of them VS what came on our car "reminds me of a bike chain cover from the 70's-80's"

Just weld a piece of flat stock to the open side of the link. Do the same with the trailing arms. That's what I did. Super stiff.

That sounds like a great ideal to do with the welding maybe it will be above 30 here soon so the garage will be above 35 and I can check into that!
Thanks for the great ideal!
