HP Tuners. How to load, ummm anything
OK I'm working with Paul (MGT) and he sent me a fuel trim to put in my car to stop the car from leaning out like it's been doing. He told me to do a 10% reduction to my MAF table. I did it, all manually because I didn't subtract 10% to easy way, I added 10% that way
Anyway, he sent me a fuel trim in a MS outlook config file and I can't get it open to transfer it into a Historogram, which I don't know how to do that anyway.
So can somebody give me the idiot's guide to opening this, and getting it on my charts so I can put it in the car. And Paul if you're reading this, what % do I add/subtract starting at 2625 on my MAF scale.
Looking to race the car at GM day in about 5 to 6 weeks, so I'd like to get this going so I can have the car running great if not perfect by then and give myself an idea of what the hell I'm doing, so when I do my rebuild with the new cam, I can go "click, click, click" instead of looking at a screen for hours on end and have a not running car sitting outside
Thank you, and let's keep this on topic, I really need help

you didn't realize that you could add "-10" to the entire table?
it's also not a freaking Outlook config file, it's an HPTuners config file..... your default programs attribute .cfg extensions to Outlook because your shit's all newbed out. open HPTuners and open your histograms and import it.
you need to look at the HPTuners.com forums, the actual Help file in the program (which is actually useful), and j-body.org tuning section to get a general idea

^^ No I didn't know I could do -10%.
I've been looking at the help files, I haven't looked at the HP Tuner's web forum yet. After a few hours of looking and trying to upload the outlook file or the .cfg file, I'm still lost, and tired after working 13 hours today.
Like I said, I need the idiot's guide version, be nice

See the box where I typed in "0.90" ? do that and highlight the part of the MAF table you want to change, then point to the "X" near the box to multiply by 0.9, which should reduce the table by 10%.....

^^ OK that I know how to do. Highlite everything and change the value. I just didn't know how to subtract values
What about the Outlook .cfg file? It's on my desktop and IDK how to even open it. Right click and which program do I choose. I tried HP tuners scaner and editor and both didn't work correctly.
Alos I asked this before. I have an OS mismatched pair. How do I change the VIN in my PCM to my car and not some 2001 Alero that I have no idea what it is?

That is how you would subtract a percentage.
To ADD a percentage, multiply by a number greater than 1.
If the parameter in the table is already given as a percentage, like TPS %, then you can simply add a positive or negative amount to the table.
Last I checked, the OS had to match between the PCM files to change the VIN. In other words, you may not be able to change it.
To subtract a number (not a percentage), type in a negative number, for example, " -1.1 ", then add it, by pointing to "+" and click.
I think that's correct, no time now to recheck it

Basic math, and math was always my best subject. Now that I understand how to subtract a %, I'm going to take another 10% off my MAF table
What about this outlook file? How do I convert it?

I think I may have gotten the tune to open, maybe.
I have version 2.22 of the software the file says it was made with a newer version. IS there a newer version of the software?

They have a "Beta" version of the 2.22 which I believe is updated periodically, but I still have the 2.22 also.
