im gonna either go turbo or super but i dont know which one to do, i know i can get a good turbo kit for about 3500 but i honestly dont like the noise of a turbo, so i would lean more towards a super but it is more expensive, so those equal each other out, so the deciding factor would be which one do you think would be better performance wise?

i have the 2.2 and i would rather have the supercharger, but like you said its way more expensive. the s/c for my car is like 4900 and the turbo is like 2100, pretty big difference huh?

to me i somewhat lean towards turbos being for imports and supers being for domestics. but with a turbo for my car at 2100 i'm going for that

this is a site i found for a super that is for grand am's but with barely any changes to convert to an alero it would work, but look how expensive it is though... too bad, takes it up about 90 hp

and even though the 3400 t/c is $3,495.00, it's still a little cheaper, and @9 psi you'll have about 265hp at the wheels.

so then you are saying the turbo would add more power than the super at a cheaper price?

all depends on how much psi you put through it, and what engine...

i'm not sure if the s/c is intercooled or not... that also helps the t/c put up better numbers.

id be willing to put up with the spool of a turbo if it costs more and puts up more power... so now that we have that figured out, what things do i NEED to upgrade and reinforce to handle a turbo?

depends on how much boost you want... stock engine could handle 5psi for a while, that'll put you at 220 hp at the wheels.

i'd upgrade the fuel system no matter what, the last thing you want is to run lean.

how much do you want to spend?

i'm not the best person to ask about this, but i'd also go with forged pistons... hone/port everything possible.

i've heard plenty of people say that, and nobody does anything.

if money isnt anything id have a shop swap a northstar in there.... or even a 3.5 "shortstar"

well i just want to customize the stock engine it has, i have a 1968 Z28 with a borred out 454 that i used for total engine swapouts.. it used to have just a normal 350 and i swapped it for a 427 big block and borred it out to about 454.... so anyway, i just want to customize the stock engine of this car so that it can have balls with being itself

well in all honesty, this isnt really a good engine to play with, but i understand what you're saying.

but yea, i'd just upgrade anything and everything... go through street arsenal, rsm, and there was another..... and upgrade any internal parts you can find.
