New Alero Owner Here
Hey guys, I now have a 2000 Alero, car was given to me gratis with 144k on the odo and failed LIM gaskets with a cracked #1 cyilnder and a gallon of water in the oil pan. That engine was garbaged and I spent about 5 months slowly rebuilding a 3.4L out of a 99 Grand Am donor car. I'm looking at a little over $600 in the engine as of now, and all code issues have been cleared up from engine swap. Engine is at 100% new performance. It drives like a beast and will smoke the tires. Only other thing I've done so far is to clean up the interior and put new tie-rod ends on.
Looking at getting brakes and a set of tires for the front and will probably make this my daily driver for the time being.

Yes I did. I shoulda used you as my referrer but kinda spaced on doing that.
Already found many answers to my many questions on this car via past topics. There's enough info that I'll probably be a constant lurker on here.
This car is the basic no frills GL model 4-door, silver paint, cloth interior, it has aftermarket tinted windows that have gone to crap on the back doors, aftermarket keyless entry and alarm (disabled), and the bumper covers are beat to hell and back.
I've been to a few pick-a-parts and been getting some ideas on what's available to clean up the car some.
Got my eye on a silver GLS model with nice interior still in it.
Too many GM 3.4s in the JY with blown/bad motors.

Thanks for the welcome guys, no grand plans here.
I mean if I had the extra cash I'd probably go for some of the WOT-Tech mods like stage 2 intakes with a bigger TB.. But I really don't want to go tearing back into that engine any time soon.
For now I'm happy seeing what's up with my broken hazard thing that had "fallen in the dash", found out why it's "clicking constantly", and why the button on the cruise control won't stay depressed. Also it's cool to learn that I can gank a Grand Prix shifter knob from the JY and put it in, that larger Alero one is in the way of the cupholder IMO.

No pics that I'm eager to show off right now as I've not had any chance to detail the interior/exterior to my liking.
