Doesn't really matter, many people have had no problems with 5x114.3, you really shouldn't have any problems as long as you get a hub centric ring. If you have any problems your wheels are shtty quality....uh oh I'm sounding like chaos.

Saw some Caddy wheels I like here in a pawn shop for about 300 the set. Nice, but I won't go that 3-5 pounds heavier per combo over the 16 inch Alero alloys.

So to get this right, the OE measurments of the 99 - 04 Alero rims are
lug circle: 5 X 115 mm
with a wheel size: 5 X 4.52 inch
studs: M 12 X 1.5
and hub dia: 70.3 mm
what about the offset or backspacing?
Sorry have to be quite specific so German regulations r easier to pass on this.

Offset is +42mm. Offset is not the same as backspace.
Offset is the distance from the wheel centerline to the hub mounting surface.
Backspace is the distance from the inner edge of the rim to the hub mounting surface. Just guessing, but backspace for the OEM 16x6.5" aluminum wheel is about 124.55mm, or about 4.9".
And my wheels hardly classify as "wheel porn". Wheels like HRE, SSR, Forgeline or Fiske are a different story. But I appreciate the compliment.
