I got thinking, since no one really makes a bright bulb for our fogs (Sylvania silverstar), and the Silverstars that are close to the bulbs we have, 893 I think, don't really fit that well. Why not put a HID conversion in?
The fogs allready kind of have a projector, so in theory you just need the bulb and ballasts.
Think about it, if you put silverstars in, or hids in your low beams, your foglights are essentially worthless. They are way overpowered by the headlights. I live in an area that gets a lot of fog, and also in an area that has an insane overpopulation of deer. I've allready racked up 4 deer in 3 years of driving. Granted 3 were bambi-ish sized deer that inflicted no damage to my old truck. Having HID fog lights would certaintly help with the fog issue and help to illuminate the side of the road.
Seeing as I'm planning on converting my car to HID once I have the $$$, and a set of projectors in my headlights. I might as well do the HID fogs as well.

they do make them..i think they would work out just fine...the only problem i can see is when you convert to the HID headlights, its going to be overpowering light coming out of the front of your car...i know with just the HID headlights, i can't drive anywhere without at least 1 person flashing me.. I would say they woudl work out perfect for foggy conditions and low light conditions, but you'd have to watch oncoming traffic.

the fact remains that they are going to be much brighter than anything OEM and most people have the natural reaction to look over at oncomming traffic, so they are going to look right into them and believe they are high beams. projectors or not, it doesn't hide how bright they are

unless you are on the road below the cutoff of the projector beam...it wont be bright....just like every audi or beemer that drives towards you...granted they are brighter, but my projectors with HIDs are actually less bright when you look at them than when i had stock bulbs and no projectors......unless you get down on the ground and look at them....

actually i think HID's in the high beams would be nice, cause you can always look cool with your day lamps on and 2 pairs of Hids at night (foglights and low beams) beautifull! . and if you had your low beams to be a more bluish HID, and your foggys to be a more purplish..... be f***ing sweet!!!!! would you have to make any modifications to put hid's in the high beams and foggys? or do they come in bulb numbers of 9005 and 894?

First step is to find HID bulbs that fit in the 894 housing. Seeing as I have stock foglights, I want to utilize the housing.
